The Baltimore Plant Closing by Stroh
The Stroh Brewery Company, who has bought the G.Heileman Brewing Co.
has closed down the Baltimore plant on December 20 1996.The Scrooge Brewery Company
has managed break our contract, which was to run until June 30 1997.
In return for breaking a contract 6 months early, their only concession to
long term employees, was to increase the severance pay by $30 per year service
to a maximum of 30 years.
In other words, their opinion was that closing the plant down 6 months early
was worth only $900 to them.
So, after 32 years with the G.Heileman Brewing Co. The Scrooge Brewery Company
otherwise known as the Stroh Brewery Company, has put me on the unemployment
line 5 days before Christmas.A severance pay of $3000, is what I got for 32 years
of service.
So, to sum up my feelings on the Scrooge Brewery Company, I must say, that I hope
that the new year and all those to follow bring Peter Stroh, personally. and his
Scrooge Brewery Company only the worst of personal, and business luck possible.
As well as a future Christmas as bad for him and his as he has deemed to foist
upon us here in Baltimore.
I thank those of you who are returning to view this update.
